Braised Chicken and Cabbage Recipe

Some Nutritional Facts:  Cabbage is one of vegetable that really does not have a lot of taste or texture and is very palatable.  It is in fact a very good "introductory" vegetable for children who have difficulty with vegetables.  Aside from that,  cabbage is also very high in fiber and vitamin C.

 

 

Ingredients

15g chicken breast meat

10g Cabbage chopped into small pieces

1 carrot shredded

1 tbsp green peas

10 fresh button mushroom chopped

1 tbsp corn starch (optional)

1 small onion chopped

1 tsp of cooking oil

salt to taste

 

Method

1. Lightly fry the chopped onions until golden,  add the chicken meat, the carrots, green peas and the mushroom. Add the cabbage and a small cup of water.  Let it simmer for about 20 mins (until soft)

2.  Add the corn starch before serving to thicken the sauce.  You can eat this with steam millet.
