Tofu Soup Recipe

Some Nutritional Facts:  Tofu can be easily digested and has some kind of soothing effect on the stomach.  Since Tofu is soy based,  it also has a variety of proteins.  Some comments about tofu.  There are various types of tofu that can be found in the market.  If you go to intercontinental markets you can find even more types.  Here are some common types.

Yellow Tofu - This type is soft and has a egg in it.  It is yellow in color and is typically cooked in asian and Japanese dishes, although you may also find that it can be used in some Chinese and Singaporean dishes.

Silken Tofu - This is the type of tofu taken cold in Japanese Restaurants.  Can be taken raw. Can be also used in soups.

Regular Tofu - This is a firm type of tofu usually also know as Bean Curd. 

 

Ingredients

1/2 box silken Tofu

2 slices Smoked Ham

5 mushroom

30 grams peas

20 grams corn kernels

2 Tbsp of oil

1 tbsp dried kelp (optional)

 

Method

1. Chop up the ham and mushroom into small pieced.

2. Dice the tofu into small cubes

3. Lightly fry the ham until fragrant, add the mushroom. 

4. Add 2 bowls of water.  When the soup is boiling,  add the peas, corn and tofu.

5. Add the kelp last and let the soup boil slightly.
