Red Bean and Lotus Seed Soup Recipe

Some Nutritional Facts:  Gingko is added in this soup for the special nutritious properties.  Here, lotus seed which is very high in protein. Lotus Seeds are high in minerals and are good supplements for calcium, iron and zinc. Being a seed,  it is also high in protein. In the traditional Chinese medicine,  lotus seed is typically used to supplement the kidneys and spleen. This is also a very simple soup to prepare

 

Ingredients

150g red beans washed thoroughly and soaked overnight

3 tbsp molasses

10 gingkoes shelled

15 lotus seed

 

 

 

 

Method

1. Boil 5 cups of water and add the red beans and lotus seed. Cook it for about 2 hours.  Add the gingko and lotus further cook for another hour.  Before serving add molasses.
