Cooking School for Kids - My Kitchen

Cooking School for Kids - My Kitchen Someday, that’s my dream. In the meantime I would just be contented with teaching my children how to cook.
My children love to be with me in the kitchen. They love to help me out. I often find myself in a dilemma because, while I love for them to be, cooking with me, the kitchen can be a very dangerous place for children. Here are some of the precautions that I try to take.

1. They are not allowed to be very near the stove area. Although where they are standing, they can still see what’s going on.
2. I typically get them to marinate meat. This is lots of fun for them. Not too fun to clean up though
3. I think one of the favourites is breaking and beating eggs.
4. Knives are not allowed. Although, when I am cutting vegetables, they can mimic me by using real vegetables but butter knives.
5. Doing dishes can be fun with the right attitute.
6. Wiping tables and serving food is fun. I would normally reward them with “stars” when they take their own initiative.
