Another well known fact is that breastfeeding women tend to have a faster uterine contraction after delivery compared to non-breastfeeding women.
Normally, when we breastfeed a newborn the first few days after the baby is born, we will feel some slight discomfort of the uterus. This happens because the uterus is contracting while we breastfeed. The nurses were always so surprised that my uterus went back to it’s original place about 5 days after delivery. This is because, in their experience, most mothers don’t breastfeed, and most non-breastfeeding moms take a very long time before the uterus contract.
Breastfeeding is God’s design for us to go back to our original shape fast after delivery.
