It is important to ge breastfeeding support, especially from the person that is going to babysit your child while you are at work.
There is nothing worse than having the baby sitter to continously tell you that breastfeeding is useless, takes too much effort, etc, etc. Some mothers decide to stop breastfeeding because of this. For me, a baby sitter who does not support breastfeeding will not be a good baby sitter, and I will not send my baby to her. This applies to nurseries as well. Good nurseries will support breastfeeding mothers and will have no problems giving your baby breast milk.
The reason the baby sitters don’t like to look after breastfed babies is because breastfed babies pass stools more often then formula fed babies. Also, they get hungry more often, which means they have to attend to the baby more often. So, do you think a baby sitter that prefers minimum attention to the babies to be good baby sitter? I don’t think so.
Of course we can try to ease their burden by, for example, providing them with a bottle warmer so that they can warm up the milk fast and easily without having to warm up the milk manually and in stages (ie, from freezer, to fridge, to hot water bath).
