Toilet training - diet

Unknown to many people, toilet training can be affected by diet. Certain foods can cause incontinence and certain foods can improve bladder control.

This is largely derived from Asian traditional medicine. ‘Cooling’ foods such as pear, any kind of melon, etc, can cause incontinence, and you will find that your child will have more ‘accidents’ while toilet training, if they consume a lot of these foods. However, foods such as walnut, can improve bladder control, but we shouldn’t take too much of it, about 2 a day for children will do. I have found walnut to be very effective in controlling my children’s bladder. I have noticed a significant drop in the frequency of bedwetting.
