To work from home effectively, I think it is very important to set some kind of expectations, both for the children and for ourselves. There are a few ways that are effective in setting expectations:
1)Spell out the rules to the children at the beginning of the day.
2)Have a set routine everyday
3)Plan activities for them that will keep them occupied and not get bored
4)Have a definite time table where we start and stop work. Have a time table for the children to do whatever activities that we have planned for them to do as well.
5)Before we start work, give them lots of attention and shower them with expressions of love. Do the same after we stop work.
6)Have a designated room and desk where we work, and keep all the things that we need around this working desk.
So the key is to be organized, structured and be disciplined.
